However, with\u00a0<em>Crisis at Calista Station\u00a0<\/em>getting released two days ago, I thought I better update everyone.<br \/>\nSo first off, the latest news.<\/p>\n<table class=\"mcnTextContentContainer\" border=\"0\" width=\"100%\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"0\" align=\"left\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td class=\"mcnTextContent\" valign=\"top\">\n<h2 class=\"null\"><strong>Latest News:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Crisis at Calista Station<\/em>, the second book in The Portal Adventure was released by Peasantry Press on 29 September (there&#8217;s a picture of the cover below).<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;ve had\u00a0<em>1827 &#8211; Napoleon in Australia<\/em>, a short story, accepted into an anthology of Australian alternate-history. The anthology has been edited by Jared Kavanagh and will be published by SeaLion Press. Once I have a release date, and a cover to show off, you can be assured I&#8217;ll let everyone know. I did finish\u00a0the story,\u00a0but and have now started to expand\u00a0 it to novel length.<\/li>\n<li>Hague Publishing has also been taking up a lot of my time, with the release of Ruth Fox&#8217;\u00a0<em>The Bridges Trilogy<\/em>, and Leonie Rogers&#8217;\u00a0<em>Amethyst Pledge<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"null\"><strong>What I&#8217;m Reading:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Until a couple of weeks ago I hadn&#8217;t actually been doing much reading this year but in the past month or so I&#8217;ve been able to finish quite a few. Anyway, here&#8217;s just some of the books:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The Left-handed Booksellers<\/em>\u00a0of London by Garth Nix (just released yesterday)<\/li>\n<li><em>The White Pavilion<\/em>\u00a0by Ruth Fox: 5-star steam punk<\/li>\n<li><em>Janissaries<\/em>\u00a0(The Theogone Book 1) by Chris Kennedy:\u00a03-star OK space opera<\/li>\n<li><em>The Wizard&#8217;s Butler<\/em>\u00a0by Nathan Lowell: 5-star ridiculous brilliance<\/li>\n<li>A number of short stories by Bulgarian writer Elena Pavlova: 5-star weird and wonderful SF &amp; F<\/li>\n<li><em>Ride the Storm<\/em>\u00a0by Karen Chance (a Cassie Palmer story):\u00a04-star over the top heroine<\/li>\n<li><em>Brave the Tempest<\/em>\u00a0by Karen Chance (a Cassie Palmer story): 4-star over the top heroine<\/li>\n<li><em>The Demon&#8217;s Den &amp; Other Stories of Valdemar<\/em>\u00a0by Tanya Huff: 4-star, leaves you wanting more<\/li>\n<li><em>Emerald Blaze<\/em>\u00a0by Ilona Andrews 6-star. Any book in the<em>\u00a0Blaze\u00a0<\/em>or\u00a0<em>Sweep<\/em>\u00a0series by the Andrew&#8217;s have me immediately rereading the book once I finish it &#8211; there are that good.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"null\"><strong>What Made Me Happy:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Attending the 2020 World Con in New Zealand. OK, it was virtual because of Covid 19 but I had a real blast. I shared a dealer&#8217;s table with Kalin from Bulgaria and ended up selling a couple of my books, and two of Hague Publishing&#8217;s.
