Welcome to Pieces of Me – 5

It’s been pretty chaotic of the last couple of months, and at times it feels as though I’ve just been going around in circles. But things are starting to settle, hence this update.

Summary

  • Nadir, Book 2 in the Clemhorn Trilogy was released at the end of July and the reviews were excellent. And I finally finished the Nadir book trailer.
  • Vortex on Vertu Prime, Book 3 in The Portal Adventures was also released on May 1 and I’m still smiling given the way reviewers received it.
  • Further to the above, Alan Malcolm, one of the narrators of  Nightfall is going to be narrating Vortex on Vertu Prime.
  • And The War of the Worlds in Real Time ran very successfully throughout June, despite Elon’s best attempts to bring Twitter to its knees. See followup interview on the SeaLionPress forum.
  • For more information, and a short piece of original prose from the upcoming For the Honor of the Agency, continue reading.
Coming Events
  • 24 October (Tuesday). The Bassendean Library is hosting a ‘Meet the author and narrators of the Nightfall – Audiobook’ event at 5:30 on the 24th of October.
  • I will have a stall at the Indi-Author Bookfair at the Sterling Street Arts Centre, Stirling St in Bunbury on Saturday 2 December from 10:00 to 16:00. It will be really cool to have people I know drop by and say hi.

Nadir, Book 2 in the Clemhorn Trilogy was released at the end of July and the reviews were excellent. For example:

“Get ready for a wild ride with “Nadir,” the second book in the Clemhorn Trilogy by the talented Andrew J. Harvey. This bad boy takes everything you loved about the first book and cranks it up to eleven! It’s jam-packed with parallel Earths, interdimensional shenanigans, and enough family drama to make the Kardashians jealous. … It’s like a soap opera on steroids, but in the best possible way.”

And I finally finished the Nadir book trailer see below, and for those who have forgotten, or never watched the trailer for Nightfall I’ve included that as well. As I’ve explained before, writing is now my job, messing around with DAZ3D is my hobby.

If you got this far I thought you might be interested in another vignette from the Cross-Temporal Empire’s Mainline, the first having appeared in Pieces of Me – 3. It was written for For the Honor of the Agency.

Grand Duke
Michael Alexandrovich Romanov

Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich Romanov was the first Governor of Russia’s American Takelma Governorate. The Takelma was the last of Russia’s six North American Governorates, and was created when the Spanish ceded Kaliforniya and Meksika to the Russians in 1848. The Governorate extended south from the Columbia River, to Kaliforniya’s northern borders.

The diarist Shamill Pepps wrote in 1880 that: ‘the Grand Duke Michael was a governor whose passion for female opera singers and male ballet dancers was only surpassed by his scrupulous honesty with public funds.’

Historians agree he was a powerful advocate for the natural environment. Myers Brag has credited him with persuading his brother Czar Nicholas I to declare Yellowstone the Mainline’s first national park. Despite his success as governor, his many sexual peccadillos eventually became too much for the public. After a particularly lurid expose in the Portland Times, involving a ménage a trois with two singers from the Moscow Opera, the Czar recalled him. He never returned to the Americas, and retired to the family’s estates outside Moscow.

And remember if you want to say thanks to this author person, leave a short review of my book, any book, anywhere you like.

Honestly, reviews are like gold nuggets to an author. Until next time. Andrew
